 About Maegan DeLeary

Middle School Special Education Teacher

Maegan DeLeary, Maegan Roy, has spent the past two years in middle school co-taught and resource room classes. As a graduate from Central Michigan University she holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education with a concentration of Cognitive Impairments and Elementary Education. While at Central Michigan University, Maegan pre-student taught at West Intermediate School, Mount Pleasant, MI,  as a special education co-taught science teacher in 6th and 7th grade as well as at Gateway North Elementary School, St. Johns, MI, as a co-teacher in a 5th grade classroom. During these co-teaching experiences she studied the Saint Cloud University Model of Co-teaching and presented at Professional Development School National Conference in Spring 2017 to talk about her experience co-teaching and creating a STEM partnership between Central Michigan University and St. Johns Public School District. Maegan then student taught at Paint Creek Elementary in Lake Orion, MI in a self contained mildly impaired classroom and in a fourth grade general education classroom at Hillside Elementary in Farmington, MI.

Since graduating from Central Michigan University Maegan worked at Zemmer Junior High, Lapeer, MI as an 8th grade reading and math interventionist along with co-teaching all 8th grade core subjects for one year. Then she moved to Oxford Middle school, Oxford, MI, where she currently is a resource room teacher, along with co-teaching all 7th grade core subjects. Maegan also was the assistant coach for OMS’s 8th grade girls basketball team, which was undefeated in 2019. She is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Learning, Design, and Technology from Central Michigan University.
