While I was transforming a face-to-face math lesson to an online lesson I started reflecting on the ISTE standards and how they apply to real lessons. I found that at least two of the standards really stuck out to me in my lesson citizenship 3a and collaborator 4c. Citizenship 3a is “Create experiences for learners to make positive, socially responsible contributions and exhibit empathetic behavior online that build relationships and community.” This really stands out to me because in my lesson students and teacher interacted using  Floop and Padlet. They were encouraged to make positive comments and help other students with their feedback or contributions. Collaborator 4c is “Use collaborative tools to expand students' authentic, real-world learning experiences by engaging virtually with experts, teams and students, locally and globally.” This standard applied to my lesson when students paired up and picked an item off of Amazon to use a coupon on and find sales tax. This is something all students would do in everyday life to  save money. I think that the ISTE standards touch on a lot of important topics that teachers need to be purposeful about. On the contrary there must be more within our lessons than just those standards. The ISTE standards do not cover cognitive or social presences but can be intertwined within lessons that go beyond just the standards.
