This week my thinking about technologies changed in how to create virtual lessons as videos that weren’t just screen recording or writing under a document camera. I know that I will not be able to make a powtoon for every lesson but to introduce or to give a refresher of assignment expectations it would be more interactive than a slideshow. I liked experimenting with different programs for the videos this week. I tried Playposit, EdPuzzle, Whiteboardfi, LiveBoard, ShowMe, and Powtoon. I ended up thinking that EdPuzzle was more user friendly than Playposit with the free version. Whiteboardfi would be a great way to do a review in math especially because if a student does not have a touch device they can do it on paper and take a picture and put that on their board. I would not perform a lesson through Whiteboardfi though, it is just for questions to be answered on. I did learn a trick that teachers can manually save their boards to be shown so they can demonstrate how to solve without students seeing. ShowMe ended up being my favorite whiteboard application that also records. I like that it fast forwards through the paused parts of a lesson but still shows the process. EdPuzzle gives me feedback on the students' understanding of the material or video being presented in real time. This would really help my students who struggle with reading fluency so they can replay the section to answer a question instead of rereading like other students. I will use all of these tools within my Bitmoji classroom on Haiku and in Google Classroom.
